Historic Spring Break

So it was nice to have a week of travel and fun that ended in a family celebrating Easter together. Hubby enjoyed himself so much he said on our way to his parents' Thursday evening (after 5 days travelling together), "I want to go visit somewhere else before we go to my parents. Isn't there somewhere between here (somewhere near Lynchburg VA) and my parents' house?"

All the more reason to do it again soon, I say. Some highlights of our adventures in photos/captions, of course over a few blogs because there are so many fun photos to share.

Berkeley Springs and Leesburg Our first stop from Morgantown, was a much needed lunch and an afternoon at Berkeley Spring, WV checking out book stores and antique shops, where I found a cool gift for Clint for his birthday, and some yummy fudge for the grandparents. Then we headed down the road to Leesburg, VA to our hotel...with a pool. Yes, I let them jump on the bed. What fun is staying at a hotel if we didn't?

We ate dinner, then relaxed at the hotel, and swam. No pictures there either, because we were busy keeping our children alive in the pool and hot tub. Aahh. That's vacation!

Once More In Leesburg, VA

I didn't really take many pictures in Leesburg the next day, as it was snowing and we were walking most of the time. It was fun. We found a series of beagle statues to give to grandpa for his birthday. And we couldn't resist a stop in our favorite vintage closet in an antique shop there.

Tomorrow--a day trip to Washington DC.
